Classic Mini for first car?

Ипотпал

I have been a classic mini fan for as long as i can remember and want to buy one when im 17 to use as an everyday car. Has anyone owned or had any experience with a classic mini for a first car and would you recommend buying one? My budget for the car will be £2000 because the insurance is going to be around £1500 minimum (because i’m a boy so i’m obviously going to roll it doing an illegal street-race, HAHA)

Kind Regards, Tom
HAHA Gary! im only 15 and getting a mini when im 16…hopefully :)

I had a mini as my first car, it was great! economical on fuel and parts are cheap and readily available. Easy to work on to! Just be careful if you get one with drum brakes on, they will be shockingly bad compared to whatever disc braked car u take your test in!

A classic car is never a good choice for a 1st car. Especially if you don’t have a huge repair budget. Furthermore, old British cars aren’t exactly known to be problem-free. British cars are especially known for bad electronics. Expect some repairs to be done, especially one bought for 2000 pounds. Those things are collectors’ items now. You won’t find a good one for cheap. Lastly, get something more practical. Those things are only sought after because of the novelty of having a cartoonishly small car. They aren’t even good looking.
