I want to take my new car abroad for 12 months, how do I get cheap car insurance?
ИпотпалI have a new car (well used new car) that I want to take to Germany for 12 months. One insurance company quoted me $8,000! What are the best companies to get a quote from? Either that allow this under the policy, or will charge a reasonable fee for a green card on top of the normal insurance policy.

Maybe a waste of time! If you are from the States a lot of expense and Have you checked the regulation of the country you are going to? Many allow you to keep your registration for a number of months before having to import the vehicle. US spec are different to European so you don’t want to get caught out with a car which will not pass the test – you can’t drive – can’t sell.
Cut your possible loss sell your car (or store it) – buy or rent something after you arrive. Note: Germany is one of the strictest – I had my Mach1 towed many years ago because I did not have a German license after being more than 6 months in the country.
